Erin Behrendt is a new sixth grade Special Education Teacher at Laingsburg Middle School. As a Special Education teacher she provides individualized support and services to students that qualify as having disabilities.

For the past three years, she has been the Special Education teacher at Laingsburg Elementary School. This is her fourth year in the district, and this is her first year as a special education teacher at Laingsburg Middle School. She has wanted to work with kids ever since her first job in highschool as a snowboard instructor.

She graduated in 2013 from Hope College with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and Special Education with an endorsement in Learning Disabilities. Then she went on to get her Master’s degree in Special Education from Michigan State University, which she completed in 2019.

Outside of school, Behrendt enjoys backpacking and traveling to different National Parks. Behrendt loves watching her students grow academically, socially, and emotionally over the years that she works with them.

“I love watching them experience success and become more confident in themselves,” Behrendt said.
