A Sonnet: Dark and Light

A Sonnet by Anna Ludlow

Anna Ludlow

The world is a beautiful, strange thing;

It is also a place, dark and scary.

Life will come soar you away in its wing,

Or it will shackle you, scared and weary.

The world is filled with both evil and good;

It is the being that decides its own fate.

Both factions are tempting fates, as they should,

For where is the divide without a mate?

Can good be true with no evil to fight?

For what is one half without the other?

Is evil really fear without the light?

The balance is like sister and brother.

The world is complex with these two sides;

There is truth to see, what will you decide?
